Review of A&E written by a family member
23rd January 2018

I cannot praise the staff enough for the care given today. During the day I had contact with an excellent 3rd year student, a nurse, two doctors and a consultant whilst in the elderly care section. From the first moment of admission from an ambulance, we were treated with respect and a great understanding of the issues faced by patients with dementia/reduced cognitive understanding. Throughout the experience we were kept informed of the next steps in the care process and, as the carer, I received advice, support and information that has helped me in making decisions about the future.

Hello, I am Kyle Harrison, I am 17 years old and I have special needs, I have a moderate learning disabilities and I attend St Anne's Community Special School in Welton, East Riding of Yorkshire... On Saturday the 13th of January 2018, my penus was hurting me and the foreskin had got stuck right back, my mum rang 111NHS and they advised that I go to Hull Royal Infirmary Accident and Emergency department so my mum and dad took me to Hull Royal Infirmary Accident and Emergency department, I was seen by serval people who all looked after me, but one member of staff was absolutely great with me, I got seen by a female doctor who is called Dammy who works in the A&E Hull Royal Infirmary Children's A&E and the doctor who looked after me was absolutely brilliant with me and explained everything to me and was very friendly and chatty and most importantly, treated me and understanding of my special needs... The doctor who looked after me in the Children's A&E was called Dammy, can you please pass on my kind complitment on to Danny who works in the Children's Accident and Emergency at Hull Royal Infirmary as she was absolutely brilliant with me... Thank You, Kindest Regards, Kyle Harrison.

Thank you to all the nursing staff surgeon and his team. My only criticism is that it took a long time to get anything done. Such as an MRI scan, seeing a physio etc. I do realise this is on grounds of cost and feel the hospital has very little control over these matters.

Review of Labour Ward written by a patient
1st January 2018

Maternity services at HEY trust are outstanding. I have just delivered my 3rd baby at HEY trust on the 28/12/17. I was lucky enough to deliver on the amazing MLU- this unit is a credit to the trust. It is a very well led unit, everything is of high quality and the attention to detail is second to none. The midwife on the day was very experienced and she followed my lead and gave me confidence to deliver my son in my chosen way. My husband was welcomed and we both felt very supported. I stayed on the unit for approximate 7 hours pre and post deliver and I loved the calmness of the room and that helped with the bonding of us after delivery. Post natal Rowen Ward:- again cannot fault the ward or midwives. Each and every staff member had very high knowledge and were keen to share their knowledge with myself and other mums in the bedded area. Met breastfeeding support services, midwife who performed the tongue tie snipping (my breasts will be ever thankful to her) the midwife assistants, cleaners, hostesses, the hearing ladies. As a employee of the trust, I am always keen to hear people’s view on the trust and what we can improve on. The maternity services is exceptionally busy But you are treated each time by the midwife like you are the only Mum there and not once hearing how busy they are. 3 babies delivered since 2011 at Hull and the care is AMAZING. You cannot improve on the care I received.
